Six Cashton FFA members attended the Section 3 Speaking Contest at Tomah High School on March 15th. The officer team, including Taylor Hanley, Sierra Hanley, Rebecca Gronemus, Nick Gronemus, Angela Klinkner, and Alex Hurtz participated in the Parliamentary Procedure contest. They took 4th place. Angela Klinkner also competed in the Prepared Speaking contest; she took 3rd place.
The Cashton FFA Parli Pro team competed at Sectional Speaking Contest on Thursday, March 19th. They once again had to demonstrate the proper procedures in conducting a meeting according to Robert’s Rules of Order. Even though they did not place in the top three, they greatly improved since the last contest and have learned a lot about Parliamentary Procedure. The team consisted of Mark, Rebecca, and Nick Gronemus, Angela Klinkner, Sierra Hanley, and Alex Hurtz.
On Monday, January 19th, eight members of the Cashton FFA traveled to Bangor for the annual District Speaking Contest. We competed Parliamentary Procedure which consisted of Mark, Rebecca, and Nick Gronemus, Angela Klinkner, and Sierra and Taylor Hanley and Ryan Osuski competed in Discussion Meet. For Parliamentary Procedure (Parli Pro), members have to demonstrate their knowledge on how to properly run a meeting and answer questions about Robert’s Rules of Order. In Discussion meet, members must discuss a topic in agriculture. Ryan Osuski received third place, even though he tied for second, and the Parli Pro team is heading to Sectionals in March with a second place finish.
