On October 14th the Cashton FFA held their first card party of the year in the Ag room. Both members and nonmembers were invited to attend. Many different kinds of card, board, and electronic games were played. Everyone had a wonderful time!
With the start of a new school year comes the chance for students to become new FFA members. The officers held the first meeting of the year. Over 30 members came and participated in the potluck lunch meeting, and door prizes were given away at the meeting. The officers informed the members on upcoming events like World Dairy Expo, National Convention, and Fall Fest Activities.
Monthly meetings for members will be held every 1st Friday of the month. There will be a potluck and FFA door prizes. New members are always welcome.
The 2016 Monroe County Fair was held at the Tomah Recreation Park, July 27-31. This year’s theme for the fair was Rock’N’Roll.Sixteen Cashton FFA members showed dairy, swine, sheep, beef, and rabbits. Angela Klinkner, Devon Olson, Rachel Klinkner, Izzy Mason, and Brianna Wanek all showed dairy cattle. Taylor Hanley, Preston Schrier, Brady Butzler, Alex Hurtz, Angela Klinkner, Ryan Osuski, Rachel Klinkner, and Jestin Hemmersbach all showed swine. Members that showed sheep were Bonita Hanley, Taylor Menzynski, Sierra Hanley, Marissa Schaldach, Annie Schrier, Katelyn Schmitz, and Devon Olson. Preston Schrier also showed beef; Katelyn Schmitz and Annie Schrier showed rabbits. Some of the members were able to sell their animals at the Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday night. Before the auction, there was a meal where buyers could interact with the youth selling in the auction. This meal was served by the Cashton FFA Chapter. All in all, the Monroe County Fair was very successful for Cashton FFA members.
The Cashton FFA held a Trail Camera Contest. The contest was open to members and non-members. They submitted a picture of deer from their trail cameras. All persons that submitted an entry will get 100 FFA Bucks for FFA Week. The winner will get 200 FFA Bucks for FFA Week. The winner was Brady Butzler.

The annual Cashton FFA Alumni Chicken Q was held on Sunday, August 30th at the Cashton Park. The chapter officers served a meal to the FFA members, Alumni members, and their families. Mr. King introduced the officers and made announcements regarding the new school year, fall fest events, and the toy show.
