On Monday, February 1st, the Cashton FFA held the District 8 Speaking Contest. FFA members from Cashton, Holmen, Tomah, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, and Bangor competed at 7 speaking events. The night kicked off with welcome speeches by Angela Klinkner, chapter president, Jennifer Butzler, Cashton High School principal, and Joelle Liddane, Wisconsin State FFA sentinel. The Cashton officer team, including Alex Hurtz, Angela Klinkner, Sierra Hanley, Rebecca Gronemus, Taylor Hanley, and Nicholas Gronemus, took 2nd place in the Parliamentary Procedure contest; they will be advancing to sectionals. Angela Klinkner also took second place in the prepared speech contest; she will be moving on to sectionals too. Brady Butzler placed 3rd in the extemporaneous speaking contest; Taylor Menzynski took 4th in the same contest. Rian Gronemus represented the chapter in the FFA Creed Speaking contest; Alex Hurtz represented in Job Interview, and Ryan Osuski rounded out the contest with Disscussion Meet.
